PROF.HOSSAM BADRAWI

Prof. Hossam Badrawi M.D, M.P.

Prof. Hossam Badrawi, a prominent physician and a well-known politician in Egypt, a professor in Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. He served as a board member of the first National Council of Human Rights in Egypt. He earned a BS with honors from Kasr el-Aini School of Medicine in 1974 and received his doctorate degree from the same University and from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  He had his doctorate degree in Scanning Electron Microscope, on human endometrium, then graduate studies in Northwest University in Chicago, and later from Boston University, Boston, USA in Education Reform.

He published 120 scientific papers and 7 books in his specialty and in education.  Among the publications of Prof. Dr. Hossam Badrawi are the book “Education… The Opportunity to Rescue”, the book “At Tomorrow's Dreamers Café” issued by Nahdet Misr Publishing House, “Dialogues with Youth for a New Republic” and “ A Call To Think” , both issued by the Egyptian Lebanese Publishing House , July 2022  and his last publication is “Me & The mems” issued by Dar El Mahrousa , Jan 2023.

Dr. Hossam is an artist, and he has more than 140 paintings. He published a literary book containing a collection of his paintings under the name "Forgotten Romances".

Dr Badrawi received in 2007 an honorary PhD. in science from Sunderland University in the UK and an honorary fellowship from Cardiff Metropolitan University Wales, UK in 2014.
 He initiated and the honorary chair the National Egyptian Competitive Council and Badrawi Foundation for Education and Development.
Badrawi is a trailblazer of private health care sector with his distinguished vision for health care financing, management and provision. Along with his family he established with his family the Nile Badrawi private Hospital in 1985 and the first HMO in Egypt in 1989 Medicare insurance Co.

 He is also the president of the Egyptian Association for the Diffusion of Culture and Knowledge, the president of the advisory board of the Education First Foundation and founder of the Thot Center for Political Studies. Besides his academic and political career, professor Badrawi is an active member in several leading NGO’s in Egypt, as he is an advocate of youth, women and children rights.
